Senator Bob Dole has been greeting veterans from across the country for over 14 years at the World War II Memorial. He reminds us that as soon as the pandemic is over, Honor Flight Southland WILL be up and running!
Mission Update – 2020 Mission Trips Postponed to 2021
The Honor Flight Network and our Honor Flight Southland Hub (serving veterans in Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino Counties) are passionate about actively showing our nation’s veterans the appreciation and honor they deserve! We are committed to the Honor Flight mission to transport America’s veterans to Washington D.C., at no cost to them, to visit memorials dedicated to honoring their service and sacrifice to our country!
For the first time in our history we have postponed the trips planned for 2020 in response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and our nation’s leaders. We believe that these extremely difficult decisions are necessary to protect the health of all Honor Flight mission trip participants, including our senior Americans.
The outpouring of support we have received since announcing this mission trip postponement has been heartwarming. We know that all Americans are making sacrifices right now. For those who find that they are able to financially support Honor Flight Southland, you can donate here.
We are optimistic that our postponed mission trips will be rescheduled for 2021. When they are, your generosity and time will enable Honor Flight Southland to continue as soon as it is safe to honor our beloved veterans as they visit their memorials.

Mission Statement
Honor Flight Southland is a 501(c) (3) non-profit 100% volunteer organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. We safely transport our heroes to Washington DC to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans – World War II survivors, along with those others who may be terminally ill.
Of all the wars in recent memory, it was WWII that truly threatened our very existence as a nation - and as a culturally diverse, free society. According to the Department of Veteran Affairs, an estimated 860 WWII veterans die each day. In 2020, our youngest WWII veteran is 92 years old, most are well into their 90's. Our time to express our thanks to these brave men and women is running out.
HONOR FLIGHT SOUTHLAND is our way of paying a small tribute to those who gave so much - a memorable, safe and rewarding TOUR OF HONOR!
